Delivering the homes and infrastructure the UK needs requires large-scale regeneration projects, but these are often hindered by complex and fragmented land ownership. The inability to assemble land at scale has delayed vital developments, limited housing supply, and slowed economic growth. If the government is to meet its housing and infrastructure targets, it must address the barriers that make land assembly one of the biggest challenges in planning and development.
This campaign will explore the policy interventions required to streamline land assembly, unlock development potential, and ensure local communities benefit from regeneration. We will assess how land acquisition processes can be made more efficient, how legal and planning barriers can be removed, and what role public-private partnerships can play in accelerating development.
Our work will engage government, industry, and planning experts to identify practical solutions that make land assembly more predictable, coordinated, and responsive to national and local needs. By advocating for clear and effective policy changes, we aim to remove one of the key obstacles standing in the way of ambitious regeneration projects.
